Welcome to Special Education

Franklin Central Supervisory Union is committed to meeting the needs of all learners. As a learning organization, we are dedicated to providing meaningful and rigorous educational opportunities to all children and youth. For those students who require additional supports and services to benefit from their education, there are multiple means of providing those supports. Generally, support services fall into one of three broad categories – special education services as defined by IDEA, protection from discrimination under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and support offered under the Vermont Act 117.
